O movimento indígena e os projetos governamentais na Amazônia durante a década de 1980

Following the historiographical line called New Indigenous History, and building a dialogue with other knowledge areas, we analyze the actions improved by the indigenous organizations and leaderships in front of the national security policy and some of the government projects implemented by the brazilian State through the 1980 decade in the Amazon. We also consider that the national Constituent Assembly was extremely relevant for the indigenous movement trajectory in Brazil, reaffirming indigenous peoples presence while subjects that contributed directly to the construction of the currently constitution. Therefore, we intend to contribute to the discussions about the indigenous movement history during the dictatorship started in 1964 and it's transition to democratic regimen. We builded the analysis object proposed with the interdisciplinary bibliography reading about the subject and, especially, with the systematic reading of periodical publications of the Porantim journal, sessions minutes and Constituent audiences. We also analyzed documents made by the indigenous organizations officially presented in this process, like the Border Strip Indigenous Peoples Letter to the Constituents gentlemen, the Proposals and Amendments about the indigenous peoples for the text of the Constitution.
