This article addresses the partial results of the Scientific Initiation research project of the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program – PIBIC/FAPEMA. The title of the project is “Representations of marked bodies in the digital press: the cases of feminicides, (in)visible in Maranhão”, with the following work plan “FEMINICIDES AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN PRESENT IN THE MEDIA AND PRESS OF HISTORY IN RECENT TIME IN MARANHÃO: MARKED BODIES, REGISTERED DATA AND INVISIBLE CASES BETWEEN 2016 TO 2020. Violence against women is established as a social problem that must be tackled by everyone, so when tracing a profile of the aggressor it is possible to constitute measures to combat it. Thus, the use of the theoretical contribution of the history of the present time, history and media, as well as the interdisciplinary dialogue with sociology and anthropology will be precious to capture data in relation to violence against women and the cases of femicides in Maranhão, disseminated through the digital press and other media. Using digital media through the process of Netnography, a qualitative research method in the field of digital communication that expands the analysis of dialogue in cyberspace (ADADE, BARROS, & COSTA, 2018).
