Abstract

The article presents the political path of Clodomir Santos de Morais (1928-2016) during the structuring period of the Peasant Leagues in Pernambuco, between 1954 and 1959, and the political changeovers of the communist militant that led the peasant movement to is gradual political transformation. Militant of the Brazilian Communist Party and valiant in social, peasant e working-class causes, was co-founder of the Peasant Leagues in Pernambuco and played an important role in redirecting of the peasant movement to the revolutionary struggle. In these terms, the objective of this text is to analyze the participation of Clodomir de Morais in the first phase of organizational e political development of the Peasant Leagues and the circumstances that may have led the communist militant to the changeovers of his political path.
