DE 120 A 8 BAIXOS: HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIA NA NARRATIVA MUSICAL/BI-OGRÁFICA DE LUIZ GONZAGA DE 1930 A 1946.

Abstract

The choice of the theme “FROM 120 TO 8 BASSES: History and memory in the musical / biographical narrative of Luiz Gonzaga (1930-1989)” was due to the interest in knowing better the history of the singer Luiz Gonzaga and knowing why he became known as “Rei do Baião”. And, also because he is from Pernambuco like me, he left his home in search of better living conditions and after having achieved his goal he did not forget his origin, that is, he became a famous singer, known until today as “ King of Baião '. It is noteworthy that Luiz Gonzaga's songs portray stories of the daily life of the Northeasterners and, in a way, contributes to maintaining the tradition of the State of Pernambuco known as the “land of the baião”.
