Abstract: This critical review analyzes the work “Architectures of Meaning: Language, History and Symbolism,” organized by Thiago Barbosa Soares. The book investigates language as the founding instance of human experience, transcending instrumental views to position it as the place where the subject, the real, and the symbolic are simultaneously constituted. Through a qualitative-bibliographic investigation, Soares articulates multidisciplinary perspectives from Linguistics, Psychology, and Philosophy, promoting a hermeneutic density necessary to understand the discursive architecture of reality. The analysis highlights the author's academic trajectory and his expertise in Discourse Analysis, showing how contemporary discourses shape subjectivity. It is concluded that the work is na indispensable resource for teacher training and researchers, offering theoretical foundations that reconnect the science of language to the depth of history and social symbolism, promoting critical and reflective teaching.
